Yogi Kang
Center Director of One Plus Chinese
Ms. Yogi is the CEO and founder of One Plus Chinese and 1 World
Education. She has a master's degree in Early Childhood Education
from Missouri State University. Yogi is known as a passionate and
experienced Chinese lecturer who loves to work with learners of
all ages and skill levels. She specializes in creating fun and
innovative ways to teach and engage students. Her experience
includes organizing Learning Chinese the Fun Way Meet-Up in
Santa Monica and teaching at First To Learn Learning Center,
Broadway Elementary School, Milken Community High School,
Westside Chinese School, and Carlthorp Elementary School.
Jeanne Kuo Riggins
Vice President:
Jeanne is a mom of two boys who grew up in a Mandarin
immersion preschool setting. She is dedicated to Mandarin
immersion learning and loves how One Plus expanded from a little
preschool learning center to a kinder prep and an after-school
program. Before One Plus, Jeanne was a partner at a law firm
where she practiced for over 15 years. Now, Jeanne is
actively involved in the day-to-day operations of One Plus and her
children’s school.
During her spare time, you can find Jeanne taking her children to
their sports games and practices, working out, or watching her
favorite tv shows.
Aileen Li
Assistant Director
Aileen Li completed a BA in Early Childhood Education and a
MA in Teaching English as Second Language (TESOL).
Currently, she is pursuing her Doctoral degree in Organizational
Leadership. She has been counseling college students for two
years. Her passion for education is seeing personal growth and
working to help students with holistic development. She has
experience teaching students of different ages. Therefore, she is
good at observing learner changes and adjusting teaching
accordingly. Her expertise is in communicating with the kids to
help children lower the affective filter and help students adapt to
learning more fun and effectively.
Makayla Huang
Pre-K & Afterschool Lead Teacher
Makayla Huang was born and raised in Guangzhou, China, with
Mandarin and Cantonese as her mother tongue. She has over five
years of teaching experience in one of the most prestigious institutes
EF (Education First) in China. Tutoring children and watching them
grow in a loving environment is what Makayla is always passionate
about, and being a staff member of Plus One happened to be the
perfect position for her. Now she’s working as an after-school
teacher in One Plus teaching Mandarin, and you can always find her
having the best time with your children on a lovely day.
Tianqi Fang
​Chinese Teacher
Tianqi Fang is a Chinese language teacher at One Plus Chinese. She achieved her Master's degree in Second Language Instruction at Troy University and is learning Early Childhood Education now. She had ever worked as a lead teacher teaching Mandarin to kindergarten kids for one year in a Chinese Immersion School. She is full of energy and patience. She enjoys working with kids and watching them grow. Outside of school, she likes to read, do puzzles, and play Rubik's cube.
Nancy Sandoval
Teaching Assistant
Ms. Nancy is our TA at preschool and Afterschool driver. She has
been working with One Plus since August 2022. Before One Plus,
she was a nanny to young children for over 7 years and has
assisted elderly couples for over 2 years. She has three children
and 2 grandchildren. She loves being around children and looks
forward to the days she helps preschool students!
